Hi, welcome.

The Rewilding Collective's aim is to enable ecosystems to flourish through supporting groups of people to buy and rewild land together.

How does this work then?

Forming as a group

Finding suitable land

Finding suitable land

This could happen in three different ways -

  • You might come to us as an already formed group, or
  • you can let us know the region that interests you, and we can connect people up, or
  • you might take on generating interest to form a group in the area that works for you.

Again, this might happen in a number of different ways -

  • We may become aware of a suitable site and look to form a group to take it on, or
  • you might locate a site.

Intensively-grazed, 'low quality' agricultural land is ideal because significant increases in biodiversity are possible, and there's minimal loss to national food production.

Buying the land

Finding suitable land

Organising as a group

By purchasing shares in The Rewilding Collective Community Benefit Society you and your group become co-owners of your rewilding site.

We are preparing legal and financial toolkits to support your understanding and your purchase process.

Organising as a group

Organising as a group

We support groups to establish fair, effective and resilient organising and decision making processes through the adoption of sociocracy - a governance system created to empower communities.

Planning

We envisage that some groups that form will already have valuable rewilding knowledge, and that others will need more support.

Together a strategy for your site will be established.

Rewilding

Shareholders who want to can volunteer for hands on tasks on the land.

Over time this will mean the very rewarding experience of seeing your labour enabling wildlife to return to and flourish on the land.

Groups may also invite local environmental and community groups to join in where extra labour is needed.
